I think it depends on who you talk too. My local Bestbuy will look up the price online if it's not in a local ad. My friend works at another Bestbuy and he says that they're supposed to call the store to verify the price.

It seems most of the time they don't even bother to call the other store, especially when they're busy.

My local BestBuy priced matched the local Frys via their website. Not sure if they price match online stores that do not have a local retail store.

Best Buy's policy is to match LOCAL RETAIL stores. If they match an online website price(other than a local store)......they are hooking you up.
