Default New FOX/MGM Blu titles

Hey All

I checked over at The Digital Bits, and I'm sorry if this info has been posted elsewhere here and I'm repeating myself, and I saw a bit of news that excited me.

He had this article that was talking about the studio's future Blu-Ray plans now that the format war is over, and it was a lot of stuff we've read before, along with some new info on how the BDA is helping the HD studios along in getting them up to speed.

But he also revealed some of Fox/MGM's future Blu-Ray plans.

"Meanwhile, what about Fox and MGM? Some of their release plans (through May and June) are already known. However, I'm told that many more catalog titles are in the works for possible release by the end of 2008, including such films as Walk the Line, the classic Batman: The Movie, The French Connection, Super Troopers, Fargo, the X-Men trilogy, the original Planet of the Apes, possibly Young Frankenstein and maybe even MGM musical titles, not to mention the expected new release films. And there are some great 2009 titles already being planned. Note that this information comes directly from studio sources, though the specific title slate and street dates are all fluctuating and are yet to be announced, so you should consider this Rumor Mill-worthy until official announcements are made."

It's those Fox titles mentioned that excites me. WALK THE LINE I might get since I really liked the movie (I think that and WALK HARD: THE DEWEY COX STORY would make a great Blu double feature), but it's the first two X-MEN movies, the original PLANET OF THE APES and YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN that are really getting my blood pumping. Those appeal to me more than most of the Fox titles released so far. I think if those are released as well as a double dip of the DIE HARD series that includes the unrated version of LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD, and a Blu-Ray edition of the 24: Season 1 SE coming out in June, then I'll be getting a lot more Fox titles this year.

Maybe it has, like I said, I haven't dug through the threads to see if this info has been posted already. I know how much people don't like threads about the same info, so if it has been posted already, I apologize.

Can we agree that X-MEN, X2: X-MEN UNITED, PLANET OF THE APES (68), WALK THE LINE and YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN are awesome titles to be getting on Blu-Ray? The latter will probably be my first B&W title I'll get on Blu (that is if CASABLANCA and SIN CITY don't beat it to the punch), and the former three titles are ones I have already. And while Singer's X-Men movies will look and sound great, I'm more interested in seeing the original APES in all it's glory in 1080p.
