I was born at New Grace Hospital in Detroit, and the first place I remember living was Redford Township near 5 and Beech. Went to Kindergarten at Bullman. Then we moved to Northville where I graduated high school.

The City of Detroit is a hopeless case, but it drives me nuts when I get consolation from others when they ask where you are originally from. Suburban Detroit was a fantastic place to live and grow up, and if there had been opportunities in the area, I would have gone back in a second.

I love telling people I've swam in lake Erie and the Detroit River (Peche Isle). They practically gag.

If Kwame wasn't Kwame, he wouldn't be qualified to be Mayor of Detroit. The last Mayor I recall is Coleman A. Young, who also lived up to the reputation.

I was walking through the locker room at the hospital the other day and saw someone's Max Julian coat hanging on the rack. I remember when wearing one of those in DEEtroit would get you shot, just for the coat.

I also like to tell people I lived a half mile from 8 Mile Road (on the West Side of course).

My folks still live in Northville.

Grew up in Auburn Hills. Love the Wings, although I think the Preds will give them a run for their money.

I need some cherry pancake syrup. Can't find it in TN. I usually import it from Benjamin Twigg, but the shipping kills me.

It was a good game. I like both teams, so I "win" either way as a fan, but I gotta say that that 2nd goal should've been disallowed on the off-sides. Would've made for a completely different game, but the bottom line is that the Wings skated circles around the Preds, and the Preds passing game need to improve quick if this is to go more than 4-5 games.

My prediction for the SCF is Wings/Pens.
