The San Diego area BD thread - Blu-ray Forum

Okay, so here it is!
This will serve as a meet-and-greet/local news area for San Diego area members. We can use this to communicate local BD related events and meet-ups!

First order of business:

Sunday, October 14th 2007
Time: TBA
Place: Edwards Cinema Mira Mesa
Event: We own the night

Details: Watch a soon to become BD exclusive movie. Meet and greet blu-ray.com members
We will be gathering prior to the movie at Pat & Oscars and possibly a trip to Best Buy (across the street from the theater) to pick up some new/catalog BD's. Anyone/everyone welcome, hope to see you there.
Time will be updated as we get closer to that date!

we'll find out for sure when the showtimes are announced. my vote is for around 5ish for the movie. so maybe 4ish for meeting up.

anybody here live around adams ave? i'm going to the ould sod tonight with some friends. if you're there and you see a guy with a shaved head, blue dickies jacket, and a shirt that says "free radio san diego 96.9 fm" say hello.

i think you are thinking of an ascot or whatever they're called. i meant a dickies work jacket like this

ok i feel like an ass now. my best friend is going to be bac from deployment in the caribean (tactical coast gaurd) and the only day we can hang out is the FRIGGIN 13TH AT 6 PM god i hate murphys law. so i will have to flake out on the whole lets see we own the night. another day and time would work though.

That's exactly what I was thinking, then I read your post. My schools is really starting to heat up so I guess it's just as well though. 2 tests next week and one paper. The week after that is another midterm and two more papers. Fun, fun!

Who's on board for saturday??
I figure we can meet at pat and oscars around 4:45 and hit up BBY across the street after the movie.

Where the freak is the Pat and Oscars? Is it on the Albertson's side? I never had a need to look for that sign

They showed a screening of the film at SDSU last night. Huge line up to see it. I'll go, WTF. You only live once. Let's see if we can get a few more peeps, if not, we can delay a week while we organize a definite time.

Can we drive around and pop some HD-DVDers afterwards? It's either that or we go into the store and "accidentally" knock over the HD-DVD display.

Ahh gotcha. I drove by a sign with a little PAT sign on it today while headed toward the freeway. What's the b1g1?

There is a killer Italian restaurant in that complex. They have this one dish which is like a combo plate. Mmmmm!!! Thanks for reminding me about that place. So we are meeting at PAT's when?

It seems like such an odd coincidence that out of all the cities in these United States, I would find a thread about the city I'm currently going to school in

I'm more of a lurker than a regular poster (not enough time with school+work+family), but I got excited once I found this thread. I came here after I saw the post about the "30 days of night" gathering...

Ok...we're changing the date to sunday. Buck can't make it and it was originally his idea, so we're going to accomodate him.

damn jermwhl, gotta put the pressure on me.......since this is a group thing i'll put it up to the group. my vote would be for 2 ish. I can catch the highlights of the chargers raiders game. plus I feel like a real asshat for flaking on sat. I can't look at the showtimes right now so i'd say around 2 for the movie. pat and oscar's before and bbuy's b1g1 sale after.

there's a showing sunday at 2:45. i say we get the tickets and meet outside pat and oscar's at 2. who's down? then after the movie we can mozy on over to best buy. i need to pick some christmas presents for my brother and myself.
