Default Any workout guilt after watching movies?

I was going to watch AvP2: Requiem this afternoon before I had to pick up my son from school. But after watching Commando, I have decided to go work out. I made the decision while sitting on the couch eating some cashews. On the screen was Arnold rowing the boat on his way to the island to save his daughter. Maybe sitting on my ass eating isn't the best way to lose weight, so instead of watching AvP2, I am gonna go exercise and watch it later.

Anyone else feel motivated go work out after watching a MANtastic movie?

Like Troy, Predator, Commando, the Rocky's, Fight Club, etc...?

I have a much harder time enjoying those movies if I've been slacking off on my exercise routine (well, attempted routine). If I've been keeping up however then I enjoy them a lot more.

not from guilt, but every time i see a movie like an "arnold" one, i end up on a short lived workout binge where i am determined to one day look like a tank. then i end up back on the couch watching movies with smaller people, maybe a fat guy whenever possible.

Exactly. I feel a little guilty eating a big bowl of Ice Cream and watching Troy.

I could work out my entire life and never look like that, so no, not really -- LOL

That said, I do need to get in shape. But its usually not a movie that kicks me into gear.

actually...

my ps3 has been the best workout partner I have ever had. Lost about 20 lbs over the last year.

I get on my stationary bike and either put in "Resistance Fall of Man" or throw in a bluray and ride for 45min to an hour at least 5 days aweek without even realizing it!

nothing like getting healthy while screaming at teammates while trying to blow away your opponent

That's actually a fantastic idea for people that have the space to do something like that. I absolutely must have tv or a podcast at the gym, music doesn't do the trick. That's even better tho, if you don't mind having the equipment in the room.

that's a fantastic idea, I just wish I had a stationary bike in my living room... My problem is that when I go to the gym, I won't be able to watch my Yankees, seeing as how they don't have YES! Network. So I have a choice, get in shape or relax and watch the ballgame after a hard day's work while my belly gets bigger... It seems the right choice is never the easy one.

My wife is really cool like that. We have an actual 'living room ' with the nice furniture etc that holds the 32" hd and not much else that she prefers to hang out whenever her frienmd or family come over.

and Then my den or mancave if you will, is downstairs with the bigger TV, the surround sound, the ps3, all my music equipment, the bowflex and the stationary bike where all my friends and my dad like to hang out whenever they are over.

As long as I can have this set up we will stay married a long time

Not I. I try to go to the gym everyday if possible. It is very infrequently not possible. When i was younger i even worked out while watching movies in my tiny room with my tiny 21" tv, thats how i got into weightlifting.

I can't watch a Will Smith movie around women too much, he's got a beefcake scene in all of his latest movies, making me look bad here by comparison.

Although compared to most of the US, I'm good.
