Default New Here (HD over component questions)

Sorry everyone, I am new here, I was curious if Blu Ray will be compatible over Component Video on 720P and 1080I? I have no need for 1080P yet, but I know component can carry the other two. Will that feature be available, or must I use DVI or HDMI?

Apparently the initial BDs from Sony will be playable over component video at 720p/1080i. Don't know about future releases from Sony or the other studios yet. I have no idea if 1080p can be carried over components, perhaps someone else here knows?

I'd assume 1080p wouldn't ever be carried over component since it's new (so new only one or two TV's even accept a 1080p signal) it will likely only be avalable thru HDMI.

I wonder, what if you transport your HD content over component, if both sides will have to be HDCP compliant.

HDCP only works in the digital domain of HDMI and DVI. Not on component at all.
