I just got the Panasonic DMP-BD35. I am trying to hook it up to a Denon AVR-2807 and an older Sony High Def TV with component cables. The Sony is about 5 years old, so it doesn't have the HDMI input. I connected the audio from the Blu Ray player through the receiver with a digital cable and the sound is great. I tried to connect the video to the receiver with the component cables, but get no picture. The receiver is connected to the TV with component cables, and my old DVD player was connected to the receiver with component cables, but the only way I can get a picture is by connecting the Blu Ray player directly to the TV with component cable. Any ideas why? Is there any advantage or disadvantage to connecting directly to the TV or through the receiver. Thanks for any ideas or explanations.
