Default The Matrix

With movies coming out, the matrix is one of them. I have seen the movie and all behind the scene features with it. I was just wondering, with 25 GB of storage, what would the disc have on it? What kinds of new things would there be?

The studios need to differentiate the Blu-ray version from the DVD version some other way than HD vs SD, so I guess that should mean some new extras as well. However, the only one that can answer that question is Warner, so you'll have to wait until they make some form of official announcement with more details about their planned releases and features.

Wink blu-ray movies

Yeah I hope blu-ray changes the way we are use to seeing movies.
To me I like to see videos pushed all the way maximum resolution and hope blu-ray makes ordinary DVDS obsolete.

Doubt very much Lord of the rings could fit on HD-dvd

Does anyone know what features the Matrix will have? 25GB is a lot of space.

Well most of the space will be taken up with the movie itself, HD content needs more storage space.

To be honest, I'm expecting most of the initial batch of HD movies to be identical in content, just better picture quality.

Eventually we'll see releases that take full advantage of the new technology, and as ever we'll be expected to re-purchase our DVD collection in the new "super deluxe collectors special edition only in HD" version!

I sure hope the Matix comes out on a DL 50 GB disc with sweet hi-def extra features.

unfortunately I think movie studios will initially dish out HD versions of the existing DVD's. We all know only too well how much the studios like to re-release movies in various versions.

I can't quite believe that there is yet another set of James Bond dvd's coming out, the "ultimate edition" apparently. The thing is, the Bond series has already been confirmed for HD, so what will that be; the "no, really, this is the totally ultimate boxset" version.

I don't recall an exact confirmation for the Bonds but I do recall Sony mentioning that they'll be released on BD.

I heard from an industry insider that they have done 4k transfers of the Bond movies... that should be ultimate (in terms of current technology)

I know I read it somewhere, but I can't find the original link, however:

http://www.avrev.com/news/0406/12.voom.shtml

If they are available for tv in HD, then is it unreasonable to think that they will arrive on HD discs at some point?

If I find the original link I read, I'll post it here.

Does anyone know if it will be the entire trilogy in a box set, or will they be releasing the movies one at a time? I'd rather a box set.

The Matrix Revolutions isn't going to be a launch title, but all three films may be released as a box set later on. With the titles on DVD now, all three films were put in a box set, toward the end of the year so I'm guessing the same thing may happen with blu-ray.
