Controller Charger for the PS3

Yes. I just bought it monday from Best Buy (along with my DS3 controller.)
Works great. I like the fact that it lights up green when it is charged. Plus it frees up a USB port on the PS3 (I have the 20GB version.)

I assumed so and aich75013 in the previous post confirms it does.

I kept holding off on the Nyko because ..

a) the alignment was reported as a real PITA and with impatient teenagers I was concerned it would get snapped.
b) it was butt ugly.

This one solved both those issues for me.

P.S. The way the Pelican works the vertical alignment is all but guaranteed because of the plastic holder .. so you just have to slide left or right to fit it .. once you know the center point on the controllers SONY label .. even that's a piece of cake.

Why would'nt it? The usb port on the DS3 is the same.

I've had the Razr from Day 1, and have had 3 since, So I have a few of those chargers laying around, they seem to work fine for me too!

heavier, perhaps. the arms are a little bulkier, but the overall dimensions are still the same.

all the cable is, is a mini usb to usb you can find that at bestbuy for cheap you dont need to go buy a special one from gamestop or anything also you can use alot of motorola phone chargers that are mini usb as well

It was $25 Canadian at eb games. Excellent value.

I bought this in December from GameStop, and it didn't work with my controllers. The light turned green right away, even if I knew the battery was dying from the PS3 message. I left them plugged in overnight thinking maybe just the light was broken but it might still charge, but the batteries were still low the next day. I exchanged it, and have the same problem on the 2nd charger. So for some reason they don't like my controllers (they are standard pre-Dualshock Sony controllers - one came with the 80 gb and the other bought separate at the same time).

However, I took it to my sister's house and threw one of her hubby's controllers in it, and it worked just fine. Not sure what it has against my controllers. I opened a ticket with Pelican, and they were aware of no compatibility issues.

Interesting and a bit weird for sure. Hopefully it's not widespread.

FYI .. we have 9 standard controllers and so far I've run 5 thru without issue. I'll try the other ones in the coming days and see what happens.

Hardly. The only thing i noticed is if i put my pinky between the analog stick gap is that it won't touch both sides like it does on a regular 6axis. It's mayb 2cm diff. If you can really call that bigger lol. Other then that no, it's all the same shape and so on.

Whatever you do DON'T waste your money on a "dedicated" PS3 charger. Hell here is one for 99 cents that works just fine:
