How is the PQ and SQ on Spider-Man Box set?

I apologize if this has been discussed a hundred times before, but I'm considering picking up the Spider-Man set, I have the first two on DVD and the third on Blu, is there that much of a difference with the first two to warrant a double dip?

Only differance is going to be picture quality and Spiderman 2 has both the orginal theatrical version and the Spiderman 2.1 version. The Blu's for SPidey 1&2 also have no special features.

I am happy with my double dip, but I am a big Spidey fan.

I would say Yes. Go for it!

I rate Spider-Man 2 (or 2.1) as ONE of my TOP Blu-ray titles! Super PQ and audio! I have it watched it several times. The whole subway fight sequence looks so detailed and colorful on a Blu-ray disc!

I sold my Spider-Man's 1 and 2, and have no regrets.

make sure you get the ones that are individually wrapped, not the Target set(Its packaged like Die Hard collection)

Is it only the target exclusive set that have them packed all in one case? I'm definitely picking this up soon, I'm glad to hear that they made a quality transfer. I really hope they give the X-Men trilogy a similar treatment.

Fantastic, reference quality! Highly recommended, the first two are incredible. Never seen the third on BR though

The third movie has the best picture and audio quality of the three! Too bad of the three movies it's also the worse one

FYI There seems to be issues with the Spiderman 2 BD playing on PS3's. I was unsure whether to buy the trilogy as Spidey 2 is my favourite of them all but I was annoyed that it seemed to be the only one that caused issues.

Anyway I took a chance and ordered and while Spidey 2 does play, you need to be patient while it loads. When I popped my Spidey 2 disc in it seemed to sit and spin for a long long time before starting to play. The other Spidey BD's loaded very quickly. Had I not known about the potential problem with Spidey 2, I may have sent it back.

But once it loads, it plays without problem for me. Just give it a minute or two to load.

I've never heard of Spidey 2 and the PS3 having problems. My set loads just as fast as any other disc and there are no issues.

The 3rd movie by FAR has the best picture and sound. Reference and is "amazing". 2nd movie is decent PQ and good AQ. It's a little soft in spots but color is great and overall a pretty big jump from DVD. 1st movie is the worst PQ of the bunch and isn't all that hot, but it's certainly not "bad". I would definitely not say the whole set is "fantastic, reference quality". However, if you like the movies it's definitely an improvement over the DVD. If you've seen the 1st one it had not-so-hot PQ to begin with, possibly from the choices in film stock that Raimi used (not sure).

Box set is great. I also agree that the 3rd one has the best PQ and AQ, both are reference in my book. The pic quality has great pop and depth to it, the audio is truely oustanding.

Number 2, for me, is the best balance of movie quality, picture quality and audio quality.

Great box set, AQ and PQ. Good movies too (I even liked the third one ok).

Number 2 is the best for PQ and AQ. the train sequence alone will convince you. imo, spidey 2 is top of tier 0 while number 3 is bottom of tier 0. both are incredible. the first film however didn't get the greatest transfer.
