Default 300 worth it

I read so much bad things about the movie 300 on this forum, but is it worth to buy on Blue-ray.

Nowhere near as good as the brilliant graphic novel film adaptation Sin City, but it's still okay. I think it's just a little too full of itself, and it's far too popular and overrated. But it has incredibly nice visuals, and for that, I'd buy it on Blu-ray just for the look of it.

I liked it. There's no brain busters in the story line, but I thought the visuals in the film alone were worth the price of admission. The story is there enough to keep you interested, and it's got some very cool action scenes. I've watched it two or three times since I bought it, and saw it in the theaters as well, so . . . I think it's a good purchase.

Recommended! Saw it twice (only) in theatres. The blu ray quality is not on the same high tier as others, but still a good blu and a great movie. It was one of my first BD's. A must have. True, Sin City is way better but we gotta wait for that one still.

it depends on what kind of movies you like. personally i love it! i like movies that are based on actual events. It is based on a true story but there is a lot of fantasy stuff in there too.

The way the movie was filmed is what gives it the bad rep..almost all of the scenes are over a cg (bluescreen) background. It makes it look like you are watching a live comic book! also the grain in the movie makes people not like it....although it is meant to be there, it is the look the director was going for. It is a solid movie, with a great story. I think it is a must have for the blu ray collection!

i think the quality is great! again the main complaint you will hear from people will be about the grain, just remember it was the directors intent to have it there for the effect he was after. right now it is only $16 at wal mart as well! It's a bargain!

I think it's worth it. If you look past the intentional stylistic grain, the PQ is still very clear and vivid. This is probably one of the Blu-ray titles that really started to turn the tide in favor of the home team.

Plus, it's like $15 at Wal-Mart. The next two times you want to go out and eat, just stay at home and eat sandwiches - viola, the movie is paid for.

LOOKS TERRIBLE... BUT INTENTIONALLY...

SO MUCH GRAIN IN THE BACKGROUNDS ITS SICKENING, well the hd dvd version was terrible with grain, the blu rays not as bad.

but its supposed to be there, to make it feel historic or epic or some garbage like that
