Default Wow im pissed now.

I just wasted all this time playing Ratchet and Clank to where I only needed a few more things to be 100% done with it and on the final level of my challenge mode run through the game freezes when the ship is approaching the planet. I wait like 10 minutes nothing happens. I take the disc out and put it back in and still nothing happens.... I have NO other option but to turn the ps3 off and then turn it back on...

I go to load up my game...and guess what... NO SAVED DATA... my entire save file now says "corrupted". WOW....

Is there ANYWAY to fix this?

Im VERY pissed off right now.

one of the nice things about ps3 is that you can back up your saved games on flash drives. i suggest doing that in the future.

This is retarded. Sigh... no way am I going to play through the game ANOTHER 3 times. Its a good game and all but this just soured me on the whole thing. It had been giving me problems here and there along the way too. I should have known better.

If I get a game save file from the internet and put iton the PS3 would it be "copyright protected" or whatnot? In other words if there were trophies coming out for the game would me getting a save file off the internet not allow me to have them?

Sigh.....

The same thing happened to me when i was playing Zelda Twilight Princess. My girlfriend came home and i decided to save my game in the cannon to the sky level, apparently you cant save in that room and my whole save of 48 hours was gone. Had to play from the beginning.

i was 81% of the way through GT3, when my brother started a new game and overwrote my saved game with his brand new game.

That one was the worst because its not like a computer glitch that corrupted your data, it could have been prevented very easily.

That was the biggest problem, i never picked it up again and i never managed to finish it (and to top it off it was one of my favorite games of all time)

While I was playing grandia 1 I had like 45 hours invested into it... the save got corrupted started over, I hit 50 hours invested I lost the memory card, I start over again I invest 45 hours save got corrupted, I started over again, and invested 65 hours and the 1st cd started to crap out, during certain sequences... I eventually made it to the second disc and saving multiple files on different cards...

That is about over 200 hours.. one of the most invested games and probably one of my favorites lol.

Never had a full retail game save corrupt on me (just a beta save loaded into a newer build of the 'game') but I deleted my FFVII saves by accident on my first play through of the game. I'd just gotten to the cable car to the Golden Saucer.

Didn't sour my love for the game though.

So,

Isn't there a website with game saves up?

Someone ought to have a site you go to and have descriptions of what's saved and all that since it's easy to back up and stuff.

I also think someone should have kept up with all the videos on the PSN store and hosted them online somewhere because they get taken down from the store and then .... they are gone. I would love to have the TMNT trailer I used to have for example but haven't been able to find it since it left the PSN store.

This is why I back up all my game saves on a small SD card that stays in the ps3 at all times.

Back in my ps1 days I used to buy the crappy 3rd part mem cards....so I knew they got corrupted all the time. I used to back things up on 4 seperate cards, 2 saves per card (id switch between pairs of cards every 1-2 hours) for RPGs.

so one time when I was about 56 hrs in FF7 and I had 7/8 save files be corrupted. You can bet I was having a heart attack by the 8th save. Soon after I bought a couple Sony brand cards.

What the? The game auto-saves every level you beat, every platinum bolt you get, every weapon you buy, etc.
I dont get how this could have happened.

The save file was corrupted. This could happen if there is an error while the game is saving. Always back up your saves.

There's one way to sort of fix it, and that's to obtain another save file and "restore" it back to your PS3.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps3/save/932369.html

I may also have a save file at roughly the same spot, though I'd have to look to be sure.
