OK I'm pissed off

Before I bought my Sony BDP-S2000ES player a few days ago, I was the typical owner of a great DVD player and I do have a very nice home theater system with a large library of DVDs. Now after buying my new BD player, I learn about the nasty word "profiles". What the hell?? First I thought I was buying a great high end player and then I find out that it is the lowest profile and will be outdated in a couple of months. It just came out in the fall of 07. And I spent $1300??? I am getting really pissed off at the blu-ray manufacturers. I feel like bringing my player back to the Sony Store and just going back to DVD for about a year!! Now I hear about the Sony firmware upgrade. Well, will that make my player a 1.1 profile player? I only use the player to watch movies. But I do expect it to be able to navigate BD menus properly. I've read that profile 1.0 players may not be able to even play future movies without glitches. Is that true? Is my player profile 1.0 or 1.1? I need some help quick because I will bring that player back. I do have that option for thirty days if I'm not satisfied. Quick I need some info from you guys that have experience and knowledge about these issues that the manufacturers don't tell you. I'm about ready to explode at the Sony store where I bought this gear!
