Default So how was Beowulf?

I never got around to seeing it, and I notice it up for pre-order. Was it good?

Can be watched twice but not more than that. The first 5 minutes of the movie besides the main titles score is absolutely terrible.

Awesome movie, the CGI is amazing especially in 3D. When I saw the trailer, I actually thought it was live action until I saw it in the theaters... not sure if I'll get the same awesome feeling without the 3D but still a great movie!

Agreed. I'll wait and see if it ever comes out in 3D. If it dosen't. I probably won't get it.

I've already seen it twice and think I can see it few times more

everytime I watch that movie I am saying to myself that I definitely should have been born in that era

no global warming, no oil war, just a battle for middle earth with funny dudes
slaying monsters, singing songs while hot chicks are lap dancing around, fart in the bed and tell the wife to shut up

but no blu-ray

The HD DVD is amazing, and the movie is very enjoyable. Should make for a strong blu-ray disc.

I watched it for the first time a few weeks ago on DVD. I then bought the HD-DVD version of it, amazing PQ.

Not my favorite movie of all time or anything, but I liked it enough to buy.

I agree with you. The CGI is pretty, but Anthony Hopkins looked terrible with it. The rest of them were OK, not great. "I am Beowulf" actually made me laugh it was so bad. I really liked the plot, but I thought the CGI and some of the acting detracted from what might otherwise have been a great movie.

I didn't see it at the theater but I picked up the blu-ray import a while back. While I enjoyed it, I really disliked the start of the movie. In fact, I almost stopped it and I rarely (maybe never is more accurate) do that. Thankfully, it gets much better after a shaky beginning. I'll probably pick up the US version as well.
