I've always liked this film myself, although I haven't seen it in many years and have arguably forgotten much. Such a seldom mentioned film with a great cast. I've been tempted at times to import the Japanese BD, fearing it will never see a release elsewhere, though the price is fairly prohibitive.

The Odyssey

I still like the Hallmark version but with todays CGI, it could be awesome. It's meant to be huge and epic.

I'd like a good adaptation of The War of the Worlds that's accurate to the novel, please.

I think the earlier, and very hands-on, effects of Hellraiser comprise so much of the film's "charm" (if that word could feasibly be used to describe such an arguably bleak film). As well, I would argue, that any attempt at a reboot would invariably have to include Doug Bradley. For me anyhow, there is no Hellraiser without him. One of the most perfectly embodied characters in horror history. In my opinion, a truly brilliant and unmatchable actor.

Dreamscape. Could make it a series, each movie involving a different dream/nightmare.

I agree, without Bradley it probably wouldn't work. Just bring in a fresh new perspective from a younger yet accomplished director and it could be interesting. Same goes for A Nightmare on Elm Street... I don't think anyone else should play Freddy with the exception of Robert Englund. He obviously expressed disinterest in playing the character again... but who knows.... money prevails all.

I'm all for:
  • Barbarella (was a Robert Rodriguez project for a time, but I think it fell off the map or something)
  • Battlefield Earth
  • The Black Hole (possibly in the works)
  • Dune
  • Forbidden Planet
  • Gamera (possibly in the works)
  • Logan's Run (possibly in the works)
  • Red Sonja (another Rodriguez project that got shelved, WTF?)
  • The Running Man
  • Spawn
  • Tomb Raider (preferably in the same tone, style, and with as much depth as the 2013 game)
  • War of the Worlds (preferably set in 1898 as originally written, for a change)
I think these have potential as well, but wouldn't be broken up if they never came into being:
  • Barb Wire
  • Ben Hur
  • Dreamscape
  • The Guns of Navarone
  • The Longest Day
  • Johnny Mnemonic
  • Max Payne
  • Mortal Kombat
  • Street Fighter

The HELLRAISER: REVELATIONS/R3V3LAT10N5 sequel without actor Doug Bradley could be classed as a reboot. I have not seen it.

I love this movie. One of my favourites from the early '90s.

I've seen it. It's... tolerable. Pretty bad for the most part, but it definitely has a similar atmosphere to the original Hellraiser at times.

I'm talking about a full out theatrical release. Something big and theatrical. It will probably never happen... but I'm hopeful after Clive Barker announced it could happen.

Well, I was originally thinking it would be great if it was done by Ridley Scott or somebody else good. But Timur Bekmambetov?! As much as I love the guy's work, it doesn't seem like a good fit for a classic epic.

Ah well, we'll see what happens...

EDIT:

Just noticed this:

Ehhhhhhhh...The Bible looked good, but was a bit weak on everything else. Maybe they'll improve on it, maybe not, we'll see...
