I was half joking (Thor steelbook is so much better!), but seeing as you have a spare...

I am looking to trade my Green Lantern!

Has anyone heard about any upcoming HMV steels? It's been a little while since Ender's Game.

I've asked a few branch managers but no one seems to have heard anything yet. I'm pretty sure their next releases will be Need for Speed and Divergent.

Good choices as both EOne whom HMV seem to have the new release steelbook license with, as seen with Enders Game, Red 2 and Riddick.

Are there any good Fox new release titles coming as they seem to be the other studio HMV release steelbooks with ?

Those were from a period I like to call the "glory days" of steelbook collecting.

Exclamation HMW Exclusive Steelbooks Update

Thought it might be a good idea to list some of HMV's recent announcements for exclusive steelbook titles here, to keep track:
I've only pre-ordered X-Men so far myself - haven't decided on the others yet (partially due to waiting for other releases worldwide to show themselves). Will anyone be pre-ordering all four?

Xmen and dawn day one for sure, Spider-Man is a definite no, no 3D no sale sorry hmv, turtles I might get depending on how I like the film and if it is indeed released.

I won't be pre ordering any of them though, I just turn up and they're usually sat on the shelf. Must not be that many steelbook collectors in the vicinity of my local hmv.

I've just got back from pre ordering Godzilla, so I'm 4 for 4 so far. £21.99, £16.99, £21.99 and £21.99 respectively. £5 for the 3D disc is a bit steep but hey, at least it's a complete package.

Personally, I'm still scratching my head at this.....

One minute HMV couldn't sell water in a drought, they close down their website, are closing stores left right and centre and then the next they have exclusive steelbooks to nearly all the top movies of the year.??????

Chances are if they have Godzilla (Warners) they may get Edge Of Tomorrow steelbook exclusive too. (also Warners).

Just wondering....How did they do that???

I'm not complaining. Just curious.

According to this article HMV are now doing very well http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/comment/10945228/HMV-the-high-street-and-physical-music-may-not-be-done-for-after-all.html

"McGowan claims that HMV is now “very profitable” and does not have a single loss-making store in the UK. Not only is HMV a viable business, he believes, but it is growing."

"HMV, which was once part of EMI, has also rebuilt its relationship with the key record labels and film studios."

It seems as though they are on good terms with the film studious so that's probably why they are getting these exclusives.

For me, this is great news as I'm a huge supporter of HMV
