Turntable recomendations - Blu-ray Forum

Looking for a good basic LP turntable under $100.00. I dont want anything high end so please no recomendations in the $300.00 - $20,000.00 range. This will be an x-tra toy for some older LP's handed down to me. Looking at a SONY PSLX250H on amazon for $75.89+ S&H. Good? No? Something better?

There is nothing I would recommend at that price. I know you don't want to buy something at this price, but I think a good budget turntable is the Pro-Ject Debut III. Look it up on www.musicdirect.com That's about as cheap as you can get for a quality turntable.

+1. To be blunt, BLUNT, if $100 is all you're prepared to spend, save your money.

PS $300 is hardly "high end"!

Agreed. Take your $100 and invest in oil futures or something. When it turns into $1500 overnight, get the VPI Scout.

when I was younger, all the DJ's used to use Technics 1200 turntables. I assume they are not around anymore?

in the under-100 price range the sony is likely your best bet

No idea, but for actually listening to (as opposed to DJing), Technics turntables are best avoided.

I picked up a Sanyo TP626 @ an old record shop near me for $125 (probably overpaid). Came with new belt & empire cart that i recently switched out to a Shure M97.

Very happy with the sound.
