Default Everyone in the US is having a brutally hot summer...

Except us. It's 42F today. 44 yesterday. 50 the day before. It was 44 on Friday, and it was in the 50's over the weekend. I'd like to borrow some of your summer, please!

Move to Florida. You'll get all the summer you can handle, and then some.

My buddies in Iraq are being scorched, they will trade with you.
I'm sure they will take 42 over 135-143 any day.

No kidding, I was on a roof today running 3000' of lightning protection wire at a commercial site and my crew and went through more water than humanly possible.

Here in Miami it's been raining since Sunday - supposed to rain all week. Don't forget about that part of tropical summers.

Lightbulb You may have cool weather . . .

but I see you're in a fairly bad drought:

US Drought Monitor

Here in NC, we are having both wicked heat and a horrible drought that started last year.

It's times like this I wish I lived in the Pacific Northwest or maybe the California coast.

I'm definitely ready for a break from this.

You do realize that the temps there are not that hot. If that was true it would be a record. The highest temperature on record is 136 degrees and that was in Libya. Sure it gets hot in Iraq, but you have made a gross exagerration. Highest in the US is 134 in Death Valley. Current temps in iraq are hovering around a dry 100 degrees.

No but with full gear it feels like 140

It'll be a cool 108 this weekend here.

Unofficial highly localized temps may be that high, though. Like game time temperature on the field at Texas Stadium, or the streets of NYC during midday. Or some locations right on the outside of my home that in the dead of winter are 55F, even though the actual air temperature may be 15F.

I spent four years in Birmingham, Alabama, and the summers were beautiful. I would trade you for 95F and the humidity any day. You Floridians would be wearing your furs in weather like this

I was once at a beach bar in Fort Walton Beach, and the bartender was trying to tell my wife and I about the coldest place he had ever been...Gainesville! This was just after we had spent three years in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Not here, we got about 2 inches of snow on Tuesday... I knew global warming was just a liberal scare tactic...

well be thankful u dont live in Iowa, which is where I'm from. my dad called me today and told em the entire downtown of Cedar Rapids is under water. The state has been getting hit hard with rain for the last few weeks. glad i moved up here last year, the cold sucks, but its better then rain all the time. i was home to see a few friends last weekend and after a night of partying and a lot of rain i had to run through a street with water up to the knees. crazy weather down there in Iowa
