Default AFI top 10

So I'm watching the AFI top 10 movie show on CBS. They've had top 10 animated, fantasy, and sci-fi so far. No real surprises in the top 5 so far but in the sci-fi world I really thin AI is underrated. I really like the themes and the pinnochio sort of flavor to it.

Now they are doing top 10 sports films.

The damn weather man keeps cutting in while I'm watching it. Just cut it right before they showed the number one sports movie. I'm assuming it was Raging Bull though.

Default AFI 10 Top 10

Did anyone else watch AFI's 10 top 10 movie countdown last night? I was just curious to the reactions of others regarding their selections.

I noticed that Gene Hackman was in no less than 3 of the top 10's.
Godfather I & II got alot of just praise.
scorsese was also well represented.
I agreed with most selections. Good show.

^ Yeah Gene Hackman was all over that list. It was too bad that they did nt have an action list or a comedy list. If there were an action list then French Connection would have been there as well. The Hackman movies were Unofrgiven, Hoosiers and...???

I was extremely disappointed in the Western list. The others I mostly agreed with. The fact that The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly was not in the Western list is the reason it was disappointing.

It wasn't in the list because AFI stands for "American Film Institute" and Good, The Bad, The Ugly is an Italian film.

Harold Ramis was also well represented.

I thought Tombstone might make the western list. Guess not...
I have to admit I have not seen many of the westerns on the list.

John Wayne had three films in the Western list alone. I think they were all in the top 5.
