Go to the Samsung web site, find the 1200 player and look for the button that says firmware. Click that and then open the pdf file that has all of the buring and loading instructions. While the language is a little stilted, I was able to understand it enough to successfully do this. They recommend NERO burning sofware but you can use any burning sofware that provides a "burn image" option. If you are not able to do this, email me your address and I'll send you my disc and you can update using that.

FWIW, I grabbed the below from a post on AVS and archived it just in case, even though I updated my player via ethernet. I believe that, since this post, the firmware has appeared on the US site as well.
"I downloaded the new firmware from the Canadian site, and it worked fine. A few comments based on this experience: 1. Make sure you print out the firmware installation instructions from the Canadian site. They are separate from the actual firmware. 2. When I burned the new firmware (using image burn) to a CD-R, it showed up with a .RUF extension, not an ISO extension. This is OK. 3. After using the CD to update the firmware on the player, you must go through the entire setup procedure on the player. It took me about 5-10 minutes to download and burn the firmware to a CD-R. It then took 7-8 minutes to update the firmware on the player. Re-setting up the player took another couple of minutes. You can confirm that you have the new firmware version by following the instructions in the user manual (see page 47)."
