Talking dts Logo?

A few years back, I loved-loved-LOVED seeing and hearing those 2 uber-cool dts Logo clips that played before the main feature on standard DVDs.

Is dts going to create/showcase a new *high def* or *Blu-Ray* logo anytime soon?

It will be killer!!

The Dolby Digital rain droplet trailer plays before Metal Gear Solid 4 which I thought was really cool. I wish movie studios would put those on Blu-ray movies too.

The rain droplet one is actually really old. I loved all the short Dolby intro's the helicopter, the train, the cave but you dont see them any more. Same with the DTS logo that explodes was ace. I also loved the THX ones Terminator 2 one was brilliant! Bring them back!!!!

If you go to DTS.com they play the new HD MA trailer on the main page. But there's 2 different versions. Both have the same visuals, just one is orchestral and one is sound effects. Much like their Sparks trailer with the Sprite soundtrack and Sprite Remix. If you can find it, they're both (the HD ones) on the DTS Blu-Ray demo from earlier this year.

Oh yeah!! I knew I wasn't alone.

I love the dts exploding disc as well as the piano. Even some of the Dolby and THX ones are great. They really should play these on Blu-Ray discs like they do for DVDs. They are part of the full movie-going experience.

Years ago, I ordered an original dts plaque for my entertainment room, along with a dts pin, and a dts pen! Ha ha. I also had a dts coffee mug. I really REALLY want a dts HD MA plaque for my entertainment room now.

WICKED AWESOME!!

Thank you sir! Now hopefully no one comes on here and slams this movie. I would love to have it on Blu one day. The audio was nice on DVD so an upgrade would be sure to___________ (insert) "POWER SLIDE!!!!!!"

Love the movie, only part that I skip is the Sasquatch part. I just don't think its as funny as the rest of the movie.

Default What Happened to the cool DTS and Dolby Digital intros?

This may seem like a dumb topic to some but does anyone remember the cool DTS intro with the piano keys sound that goes to each speaker? One movie that had it is American Beauty, They also had some cool dolby digital intros too, the one with the helicopter flying through the city and the jungle one, I was just thinking that it would be cool if DTS would do some new intros with DTS-HD MA or Dolby with Dolby TrueHD, The THX intros were awesome but I haven't seen any BD's with THX except for Terminator, I appologize if this thread isn't in the right section.

sorry about that, I never seen your thread but I'm glad I'm not alone with wanting those intros again, a couple years ago I bought a DTS demo disc off of ebay, it was really cool, too bad the don't have any up to date ones.

I just thought I'd bring this up again as I see someone else was asking about it. But what does everyone think of DTS's new circle logo? Do you guys like the old logo that they had for DVD's (and I believe that's still used for cinema)? I personally am not a fan of the new circle thing. It looks cheap and unprofessional.

I sure would love to see some sound logos or introductions at the beginning of a movie. Like they used to do on laserdiscs with AC-3 and stuff like that. You just don't see it anymore

The Muvico theater I go to near me, does the "Egyptian" themed Dolby Digital intro. It's always fun seeing that, wish they did more though.

You can download just about all of the THX, dts and Dolby logos in .vob format and burn your own "Trailers" DVD - although my fiancee said I was a geek half way through the second Dolby one when she said "Is that all this is, stupid Dolby trailers?"

Ha, ha.

http://www.demo-world.eu/trailers/

If you don't want to do it yourself, search for dts or THX or Dolby trailers on torrent sites and you'll get one pre-made with menus.

Because that site is EU - make sure you're getting the ones with 480 resolution - there are a bunch of them. There are other sites too with all the trailers, just search for them. I think I have over 12 different Dolby trailers.

I love Canyon, Egypt, Train and Rain - but Aurora is pretty cool too. They have the THX T2 one on there also.
