casablanca is coming too! and now we get the PiP with 300. I really could care less, but i thought some people might like to hear the news.

Bought 300 a few months back, probably watched it 3 times including the day I got it. No double dipping here.

If the new version of "300" were to have a high bitrate encode, I might pick it up, but otherwise, ehh...

"Casablanca" might be a pick-up though! Personally, I'd prefer "Forbidden Planet"...

Dear God, it'll be the August 2007 grain fights all over again. I still have battle scars and claw wounds.

Forbidden Planet would be an immediate buy for me. I had no complaints on the 300 PQ, so I'd likely pass on a double dip.

I find this story somewhat misleading, since the link in the post in their forum about this says the same thing as on the front page here, which is that no Blu announcement was made about these titles--they are just speculating.

Quote:
Additionally, they revealed that 'JFK: Ultimate Collector's Edition', '300: Limited Collector's Edition', and 'Casablanca: Ultimate Collector's Edition' would all get releases. While no confirmation was given that these would be coming to Blu-ray, 'JFK' has already been rumored to be coming to Blu-ray, a new edition of '300' has been expected to include the Picture-in-Picture feature not included on the first Blu-ray release, and 'Casablanca' is an HD DVD release that still hasn't been brought over to Blu-ray.
So while I'd expect them to come, it doesn't seem confirmed/announced yet...

300 sucked as a movie, the grain just made it suck more.
No way in hell I am getting duped into buying this POS again!

I'd sooner burn the money.

No double dip for me unless the new release has some substantially different. I beleive it's just PIP features, which is not cause to dip again.

Like others have mentioned, was not impressed by this movie. No need for the double dip here either.

Will double dip on 300 if it has a new transfer, and comes in a nice collectors set.

We all knew a 300 double dip would be coming since it lacked the PIP feature the HDDVD had. I doubt I'll be double dipping for that but you never know. I had the HDDVD version and the PIP feature on it was really cool. For those grain haters it will certainly show them that the grain was intentional as the PIP shows an unbelievably clear pic before the grain was added intentionally.

I don't need and will not pay for a second 300 just cause it has PiP.
Casablanca looks good though.

300 was the best movie in 2007 IMO. However, only improved video would make me re-purchase it and I doubt that's even possible as the BD seem to really mimic the source.

I'll pick up Casablanca and JFK (one of the only Oliver Stone movies I like)...I have 300, so like a lot of other people are saying: it would take more than PiP to get me to double dip.
