Default Can I burn everyone media (25 / 50 / 100 GB)?

I want blu-ray drive to backup my files. Can I buy any recorder and drive everyone media (25, 50 or 100 GB)?

50GB is currently the max.

The discs are really expensive (more than $30 each) though, so other backup media are probably cheaper...

Currently yes the market is at 50gig discs, 100's are right around the corner and should be out before Jan 08. Drives are still only capable of reading dual layer but there has been speculation as to the possibility of firmware upgrades to keep earlier BD drives from going obsolete. Key word here, speculation...
