Default Definitive Technology?

I have an old Sony HTIB that I would like to upgrade. Because of my budget I'll have to do it piece by piece.

I would eventually like to upgrade the Sony reciever to an Onkyo 606, however from reading these forums it seems like the smartest thing is to upgrade the speakers first.

I was going to start out by buying the center and two fronts. For the two fronts I'm looking at the definitive tech promonitor 1000 bookshelf speakers, and for the center I am looking at the definitive tech procenter 1000. Those three speakers are $219 ea. Are these speakers good for the money? Reliable?

In a few months when my budget allows I would like to move those promonitor 1000 bookshelfs to the rear and get two floorstanding tower speakers for the front. And after that I would buy the new reciever and sub.

I am usually hesitant about buying this kind of equipment at best buy (these are in the magnolia section), however i've been reading some pretty good reviews on these speakers and other places on the net seem to have the speakers for the same price. Any thoughts? should I be safe going with these?
