i highly reccomend boltz storage racks for your discs they are a bit pricey but as far as capacity and quality your getting your monies worth , plus they are expandable in the future as your collection grows.

Well, I only wish i could say this is my home theater, but it isn't... but it is my PS3 and it is a theater...

This was at my brother's bachelor party this summer, it was a lot of fun, but I wanted to spend more time with the big screen. It looked great, but the sound was not se up right so it was only lossy stereo.
i feel the same way.

which one is you??

25 years ago I had those concerns. I'll have to pad those corners again with grandchildren playing PS3 games on the 73" DLP and explosions coming through the MLs.

Beta Man - been watching your theater progress - great house, great plan!

Thanks, Cpt, - after working 35 years for a large corporation, these "toys" are my reward; took a long time to get here.

This is true - ML's are dipoles that radiate from the front and rear (the rear being 180 degrees out of phase with the front).

What's your budget? Oppo has some very good affordable players if you don't have a lot of money to throw around.

New sub, so I thought I would post an update. It is an Ed-A2-300. I still have to do some cable management, so please forgive that...

Well just redid my movie room so here are the pics.

First my old setup/layout

New layout

That flower print on my homemade acoustic panel is coming off. Didn't go as well as I thought it would.

Blu-ray collection

So as you can see I had to put woodflooring which made to acoustic horrible. So I built 4 acoustic panels but have no idea where to put them so I just hung one on the back wall and put one behind each front speaker. Hopefully when I put in the area rug it'll make it a little better. Also painted the walls since white was rather boring. Oh and before I go the reason why the wood flooring had to be put in place

I sure wish I knew how to take crisp, bright, detailed photos like a lot of you. I've been trying, and have not been very successful. Here's what I have so far:

Family room:

Bedroom:

And man-cave in the basement:

Just installed the Cyron LED lighting:

What am I doing wrong with my photos? Look at the color artifacts on the screen. I assure you, they are not there in real life (and no, it's not SDE ). The picture on my set looks so much better than this shot!

That cars picture above. I know it's not but is that what "screen door effect" on projectors look like? Reason I ask because I'm just learning about projectors and figure that would be my next project.

no, screen door does not look like that. hard to explain what it looks like but what is is you can see every individual pixel.

from wiki... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...x-DSCN0049.jpg

it would be something like that.

Default Home theater in a big box

To unobtrusively fit into the narrow living room’s decor all the components, including front main, front surround speakers, the front subwoofer and monitor, I had built a custom built 3 piece module cabinet that hides all wires, harness and cables. Rear subwoofer and rear surround speakers are hidden along fireplace wall behind furniture. Modules roll out easily allowing easy access to component hookups.
