Hatchet (Unrated Director's Cut With Director and Cast Commentary) (Re-Watch)

Just a very fun slasher film. I actually kinda liked Tamara Feldman more in this film than Danielle Harris. Even though I liked her in many other movies.

Dr Orloff and the Invisible Man

Wow, it's pretty bad but has its charms. The print was nice and battered. Pretty grindhousey which helped it in my opinion.

why do people keep saying this??? Horror films today usually go for the downer ending... much more so that upbeat endings. If anything, the downer ending in the typical "Hollywood" way out....

I wasn't big on this movie at all. The beginning when Carol Kane is the babysitter and she's being harassed by the unknown caller is great and suspenseful but the whole middle of the movie just drags on until we finally get to the finale. The remake isn't great but I like it just focuses on the babysitter character the whole time and it all just takes place at once in the house with the caller.

Rented:

First story was alright. Second one didn't do much for me. The last one with the killer doll is great, and made it most worthwhile.

I also started up this series, for the first time in years:

Maybe nothing too scary, but I always thought it was a cool show with decent action.

I agree with you. I watched the trilogy last week. I like Danielle Harris in almost everything she's in and once I got used to her in that part, it was fine. But I thought that Tamara Feldman was better physically for the part, and she had the accent down as well. Apparently something went down during negotiations for the second movie and they got Danielle Harris who was in consideration for the part during the original auditions for the first one.

10/2: It Follows (REWATCH):

10/4: Ginger Snaps: 1/2 - I have such a love for movies made and set in the late 90s/early 2000s. For whatever reason they make me happy. Thankfully, Ginger Snaps fits that bill perfectly. I loved everything about this move. Especially the cast. They really struck gold casting those two leads.

10/4 - Pet Sematary

There were some elements in this movie like the cat & some of the effects. I did enjoy Fred Gwynne, but overall this was a for me.

10/4 - The Amityville Horror

This is very entertaining haunted house (70's)movie for me. Great cast with James Brolin as George Lutz and Margo Kidder as Kathy Lutz with Rod Steiger as Father Delaney. I enjoy this type of film in a "let yourself go & visualize yourself actually there at the scenes". I love these 70's horror types of movies where it is not so blatant but more atmospheric & has eerie forms of evil that are also sometimes so subtle.

The Innocents (1961):

Superb, atmospheric ghost story about a British governess, Miss Giddens (Deborah Kerr), given the task of looking after two young children (Pamela Franklin, Martin Stephens) by their distant uncle (Michael Redgrave), and who arrives at their lovely, rural home with the greatest of enthusiasm...only to find herself realizing that her two young charges may or may not be getting slowly possessed by the spirits of the manor's recently-deceased valet (Peter Wyngarde) and his illicit lover (Clytie Jessop). Based on Henry James' The Turn Of The Screw (with a screenplay co-authored by Truman Capote), The Innocents is disturbing on all of the obligatory genre levels...creaking doors, soft whispers and shadowy, half-glimpsed specters all make their customary appearances. But viewed as a potential depiction of a mental breakdown, where the "ghosts" are just projections of the stressed Miss Giddens' vivid imagination, the film flowers into truly unnerving territory, with a daringly unsavory sexual subtext that must have been truly shocking over fifty years ago and still packs a punch today. Whether or not you believe that haunting are actually occurring, the film remains a classic, with Kerr's tremulous, high-strung performance anchoring all of the spooky goings-on, and Freddie Francis' superb cinematography making the viewer peer fearfully into every corner of the meticulously-designed Cinemascope frame (with excellent use of deep focus).

Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge -

I love both of the first Halloweentown movies, but this one is slightly better. While the first seems to drag a little bit because it's setting everything up, this one ups it a notch. The story here has more to it and is just fantastic. Plus, there just seems to be more going on in this such as them going to Gort's, getting trapped and having to figure a way out. It was nice to re-visit these two this year after not having seen them for years. None of them disappointed.

Apparently what I heard from Adam Green (The Writer and Director of the series) They said it was her agent that was playing hardball. And thought that since she was the lead. That she was worth a bit more. But in the end it screwed her over. He said it wasn't her fault. Just that she listen to the wrong people. IE Her Agent. Yeah, they wanted her. But were told they had another horror people at the moment.

I just got done watching this stink pile.

The Pyramid (First Time Viewing and Likely Last)

I have no idea on what I just watched. Some of the worst god awful CGI. It has promise to be a better movie. But it wasn't. Anubis looked like those monsters in the first Scooby Doo life action film. 2002 I think it was. So they couldn't have made the CGI better over 10 years later. This was like some SYFY level stuff here. I'm quite frankly this was giving a wide release really. When I've seen lesser films in almost no theaters or straight to DVD.
