Exclamation 31 Days of Halloween Movies (2015) - Horror Fans Unite!!!!!!

Intro
31 "Halloween" movies in 31 days. Can you do it???

Movies
Every time you watch one, post the name of the movie, rating and your thoughts on it. This should get everyone into the Halloween spirit and give us movie buffs ideas on movies we may not have seen. Please keep your thoughts generic and if you post spoilers, use the spoiler tags. The movies do NOT have to be on Blu-ray!

Ratings:
Abysmal, would never watch again!
Poor excuse for a horror film, but it had one or two moments of horrific joy.
Average hack 'n slash fun.
Greatness is almost achieved, lots of blood/guts/suspense.
The pinnacle of scary movies...it's one of kind. There's nothing like it!

All right! The new 31 Days List!

I voted "Other" in the favorite villains poll. Frankenstein's Monster gets my vote, followed by Dracula.

I picked more modern mainstream ones just for the sake of the poll this year. I went off a popular website's top 10 list with a couple others sprinkled in.

That's fine -- the modern ones are more popular anyway. I just had to give a plug to the classics!

Great to see the new thread!! The excitement level's just gone up a notch Mother-F's!!

My vote has and always will go to Michael Myers! He is THE Slasher... The Shape. Simple but extremely effective! The best part about being a Horror fan, is not having to choose, I love them all in their own ways

Just over two weeks 'til the fun begins!! I'm enjoying compiling my list

I'm ready man! Gonna fry my brains on horror movies, and rot my teeth on nuthin' but candy corn!

I voted other in the poll. I'd say Cushing's Frankenstein is my favorite horror villian.

Just recently saw The Babadook. I thought it was good. Great performances from the actress and the kid. The ending didn't really do it for me though.

Ghostface is my guy. Michael Myers somes in a very close second place. Still not sure if I want to try to watch MTV Scream. I feel like I have seen enough with just the mask that they use. Looks like I need to get my 31 horror movie set aside to next month.

I am going to try to watch a movie a day for 31 days this year...just like every year. But I am also realistic. With family obligations and trips out of town, it's hard to watch one "every" day. I do know that I'll at least get my 31 movies in, just every other year. So, with 15 days left until October, Cheers! May this be the best month of Horror/Halloween movie watching ever!

Finally!

Because of volunteer commitments for the next month, I got an early start.

1. Something Wicked This Way Comes

A Disney gem from the early 80s. Every couple years or so I like to kick off the horror marathon with this one. Great fall movie. Bugs me that Disney shies away from this type of movie in favor of more sterile, feel-good movies.

2. Dracula Untold

1st time viewing. Decent! Very enjoyable. Although I think the ending should've been a bit different (not in the present)

3. Daybreakers

2nd time viewing. A very good vampire sci-fi. Good cast.

4. The Funhouse

1st time viewing. Although a good concept, felt it was weak in spots.

Coming from someone who hated the Scream TV Show, I say watch it. It'll be a good palette cleanser. Save the great Horror for October. Plus, it's finished so you can just binge it. Be prepared though, it's Scream in name only and the killer is obvious from minute one. The writing has all the subtlety of a hammer.

Just made a rough list of movies I'll be watching this year. 1 movie each day throughout the month. Still doing some refining but I'm very excited!
