If you look at my list of favorite movies, very few of them are outright comedies. Maybe Groundhog's day is the only high up comedy. Most of my favorite are action type movies. Die Hard, Bond movies, Terminator, ext. Then on TV, my favorite shows are all comedies.. Simpsons, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Scrubs, Futurama, ext... I won't watch a show like 24, Lost or Heroes as I find them too contrived and silly... while I find 95% of comedy movies... not funny at all.
Am I the only one like this? Who just finds comedies better in TV form and action better in movie form? I feel like since movies have overall better production values, you'll never see something like the Dark Knight coming out of a team that has to film 24 episodes a year. At the same time, without characters being well developed, I am not going to find a bunch of random movie characters as amusing as J.D. and Turk's antics on Scrubs. |
