I understand those are the picture formats, but I'm referring to what is basically the "language" spoken by the disc to the TV. I suspect that with Blu-rays, this isn't an issue, but I just want to make sure. I've been given PAL DVDs before and my computer would play them, but my TV wouldn't. Since HD TVs are more like computer monitors than TVs, except for the SD tuner in them, I suspect there's no problem here. Is that correct?

I understand that the frame rate is as described above, but I thought that there were more differences between PAL & NTSC than just the frame rate (50Hz/60Hz), but maybe not.
