couldn't be happier with everything - picture is unreal, sound is phenom, lighting is pitch black even in broad daylight...all i need to do is put up some more chair rail, put up a pole cover/wrap, and drop the ceiling...football on Sundays has slowed me down!!

kids love it more than i do - well maybe not...

i did it all except the carpeting which makes me even more proud of it...even my wife is pretty pleased...

yes we built an elevated platform using joists and flooring plywood - it sits about 7.5 inches higher than the front row...

I also purposely bought chairs with wide armrests which, when put side to side, creates a wide gap between the backs of the chairs (i think it's about 18 inches maybe almost 2 feet)...so with 3 seats in the front row and only 2 in the back - your head in the back 2 seats is directly behind the gap between the arms of the front row...if that makes sense...staggered is probably what you would call it

i think the only thing i really wish i could have changed was the support pole - it's not in any viewing angle but it's just there and annoying - but i am probably being too picky...i have some cool pool wrap stuff to make it look like a pillar that i will put up...i tried many layouts/drawings and could have hidden the pole but it would have caused a loss of screen size and/or unfinished basement storage that wasn't worth it

thanks layd dly and louhamilton, I Was gonna wall mount the tv but that stand gives the effect of it and the center channel does a good job of hiding the bar.

just watched patton last night on my setup, I think i am in love with dts master audio

It definitely is. Thankfully, my kids are old enough to know better.

A few new pics of my collection...which is growing fast!
Just awaiting Sixth Sense (which STILL hasn't shipped from borders.com), Incredible Hulk, Sweeney Todd, and the Strangers.
