Yeah, I don't blame them for not doing that. I mean, all the money and work that goes into recreating a past era (the fashion, the cars, the buildings both exterior and interior...), and then doing that for both the '50s and the '80s in one film. I don't think they have the budget for it.

Can't wait to see a picture of Bill on-set with the Pennywise costume.
The first pic of him it's damn creepy, those eyes and the evil way he's looking at the camera.

I live in the city where they're filming the outside shots of
[Show spoiler]29 Neibolt St.
The child actors and Pennywise are due to start filming tomorrow and Wednesday (weather permitting, supposed to storm again which has already pushed filming back). I will go back out to try and see if I can get any of the cast and film crew, but thought I'd share some early production pics of the set being built:

Default The New Pennywise Look!!!

Quote:
“The costume definitely incorporates all these otherworldly past lives, if you will,” says Janie Bryan, the Emmy-winning costume designer who came up with the look, in an interview with EW. “He is definitely a clown from a different time.”

“There is almost a doll-like quality to the costume,” Bryant continues. “The pants being short, the high waistline of the jacket, and the fit of the costume is a very important element. It gives the character a child-like quality.”

The Pennywise costume pulls inspiration from several different eras, including Medieval, Renaissance, Elizabethan, and Victorian. Bryant says the colors were also carefully chosen to help Pennywise blend into his surroundings.

“The pompoms are orange, and then with the trim around the cuffs and the ankles, it’s basically a ball fringe that’s a combination of orange, red, and cinnamon. It’s almost like Pennywise fades into his environment. But there are accents to pull out the definition of the gray silk.

“It makes him almost like a shadow.”
Thanks to comicbook.com of the scoop.

I kind of want to see what he looks like when he is cheerful and no threatening looking. You know, like when he is first talking to Georgie and pretending to be a good clown.

Looks pretty cool but they should have toned down the frills around his neck. What is he in, a damn Shakespeare play??

I don't think IT looks that bad.

Me likey. They could have just opted to imitate Tim Curry but they went in a different direction and for me, it works.

So they modeled the look after Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth: the Golden Age, huh?

Keep it.

This clown, Bozo, is among King's description in the novel.

as is...

and of course, Ronald McDonald. So the overall description is somewhat apparent in this new one, but I unfortunately picture what Cameron Monaghan's face may look like if Gotham does indeed make him

.

A lot of thought went into this. I've been skeptical of this whole thing since it was announced (bummer Stranger Things guys didn't get it), I never thought there could EVER be a faithful adaption of IT, but I've been enjoying the behind the scenes pics, and the design.

I want to see him not intentionally spooky-photoshopped by marketing. The article is encouraging.

I can't say that I'm impressed with the new Pennywise. The thing that made Tim Curry so scary was that he looked like a traditional clown at first. This just looks like the doll from the awful Poltergeist remake.
