We've had the themepark thing twice now, and the island of wild dinosaurs thing twice as well. I'd love it if they shook things up and did some crazy "Dinos have taken over North America!" thing or something. Shake. It. Up!

That will be the next reboot: Jurassic Moonbase, starring Leslie Jones and presented in stereoscopic 4D.

If it was more of a side note than the focus of the entire film like in JP and JW, why not?

I would love to see a Walking Dead scenario where Dinosaurs have taken over the world and the few human survivors have to learn to survive at all costs. It doesn't have to be R rated but I would love for it to be darker and scarier than other Jurassic Park films.

Or go the Gremlins route even better! Have people buying little miniature dinos as pets and then they all get loose and wreak havoc on the whole world.
Hey, I did acknowledge it'd be controversial, but then that isn't such a bad thing. Taking risks is what any good franchise must do at some point since it gets stale otherwise. The "Walking Dead" scenario you mention, I wouldn't be completely shocked if that's how this film ends, or at least starts building towards something like that. They'd probably explain it by having scientists accidentally bring back a prehistoric virus that then spread and wiped out large parts of the world population.

Come on, it's a T. rex running around in a city, how isn't that awesome? I love it as a tribute to earlier "monster in city" films like the climax of The Lost World (the 1925 film), King Kong, Godzilla and other things. I love all the moments of humor, like the Japanese man running away from the T. rex screaming "I left Japan to get away from this!" in his native language. It's Spielberg just having fun and I think it's a blast.

P.S. I also like the film.
Read his post again, he's joking that JP5 should take "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" and swap the words around so it becomes "The Lost Park: Jurassic World" instead.

I'm stunned silly that anyone would want a recreation of the end of The Lost World for a whole movie.
Evidently he sees something in the concept since he agreed to do the movie (or maybe it's all about the money?), so I wouldn't worry too much about him. He's going to put his own stamp on it and tell that story the way he wants to. No matter how silly it may sound in concept, maybe he'll pull it off in a serious and intelligent manner? Or it'll just be batshit insane. Remains to be seen.

I agree, we've had "dinosaur theme park on island" twice and "wild dinosaurs on island" twice, why not do something different and crazy with it?

I don't mind them incorporating Ancient into the sub-title, but Ancient Futures just sounds really stupid and doesn't quite fit into the JP franchise.

Sounds beyond horrible. That's like a title they would go for on a DTV movie.

Will no doubt be controversial, but I for one welcome it as the San Diego sequence in The Lost World is one of my absolute favorite moments in the franchise and I'd love to see more of that.
I'm not a fan of Lost World in general but that bit is great, as well as the double-trouble T-Rex attack earlier in the film.

I must confess though, I like the San Diego bit for the goofy movie titles in the video store just as much as the dino rampage, I'm still waiting for someone to make Tsunami Surprise with Tom Hanks.

That had me worried at first but then I realized they'll have to address what happened to the park in the previous movie.

We sort of had that with TLW, at least the T-Rex lose in San Diego. Beside, how many "OH S#!T!! There's a dinosaur in my backyard!" references can we take before it quickly gets old.

Hmmmm... I'm not saying there is anything wrong with your suggestion, but, on the contrary, you bring up a valid point. What innovative thing can they do that won't be like "dinos on the moon"? It'll be interesting to see where they take this thing.

Scientists create time-travelling dinosaurs who go back in time and eat Vlad the Impaler, but before he dies, he bites them. The vampire dinosaurs take over the world.
