a little confused.

Hello everyone,

this is my first post, and im sure wont be my last. im now part of the club with my first bd player it is a Magnavox nb500mg9 from walmart. so here's my problem: my tv is an older toshiba 65" theater wide its a nice set but only has component video in my a/v receiver is real old and needs to be replaced. I would like to add dolby true hd & dts hd to the theater , but wondering if I replaced my a/v receiver with a new one that decodes those formats would I be able to send my video from my bd player over component,to the tv , while at the same time sending the audio bit stream to the new a/v receiver for hd audio over the hdmi connection.
