Default im confused, help me

I have a PS3 and i plan on upgrading my receiver to Onkyo TX-SR605(budget) and i have a question, does the onkyo receiver has PCM via HDMI so i can get lossless audio? also if i use an HDMI cable from the ps3 to the receiver, than how does the tv show 1080p? does the receiver do the job? im sorry if this sounds confusing. thanks

yes, the Onkyo will do 7.1 PCM.

you will connect an HDMI cable from PS3 to Receiver, then another HDMI cable from receiver to TV.

So you will need at least 2 hdmi cables.

I have this exact receiver and also a PS3. Hook your PS3 up to the 605 via HDMI and it can handle multichannel LPCM with no problem. Run another HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV. 1080p video signals pass through unaltered. It won't be scaled down to 1080i.

yes the 605 handles multi channel pcm and will pass your 1080p signal through to your tv! enjoy the receiver! I am enjoying my walls shaking and my ears are in heaven!
