I ordered the UK set but I'm a little confused is House 3 and 4 US region locked and only 1 and 2 will work or will they all play on US bluray players? because on the back of the cases for 3 and 4 it says region B. sorry I don't order out of country at all.

I also prefer the UK set's cover too, largely because the more colorful color scheme fits the sorta EC Comics style horror the series has, whereas the color scheme of the US set is rather drab and dreary.

Arrow have GOT to be kidding? Had a look through House to see what the PQ was like and it's another Hellraiser III situation: title screens positioned perfectly but the composition is ruined by a lot of new information being added to the left-hand side of the image (most likely the soundtrack area which was never meant to be seen), saw a few goofs as well in addition to the obviously misaligned image. Skipped through the chapters on House II and of course I see a lighting stand at the very edge of the left-hand side. It doesn't look to be as egregious as the original since the composition isn't obviously off and I likely wouldn't have noticed if not for the goofs.
When you pay a premium you expect a high quality product, not this. I gave Arrow the benefit of the doubt when it came to Hellraiser III since it was Lakeshore who remastered it but Arrow themselves remastered Creepshow 2, House and House II. This is completely inexcusable. |

I don't think it's a coincidence they're all from the same company, whether Arrow says they did these themselves or not. They mentioned in the Hellraiser III response that they often can't change what the studio wants, so maybe Lakeshore is insisting on the opened-up framing. Who knows.
I thought Creepshow 2 looked fine but Hellraiser III looked terrible, so it will be interesting see what I think here. |

http://arrowvideodeck.blogspot.co.uk...storation.html It's strange that these issues seem to only affect Lakeshore titles but Arrow have messed up in the past with Blood and Black Lace by cropping it to 1.66:1 noticeably cutting off information at both sides. See Pro-B's review: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Blood...122917/#Review What's funny is that Pro-B was easily able to contact those in the know who quickly confirmed his suspicions. If Arrow thought to d the same then the release would probably be fine. No replacements have been made for Blood and Black Lace, Hellraiser III or Creepshow 2. When Criterion messed up Dressed to Kill by adding the soundtrack area to the Blu-ray, they quickly recalled and replaced the discs. Last edited by JohnCarpenterFan; 03-28-2017 at 02:26 AM. |

The 1.66:1 thing might just be because they're form Europe, where that was a common ratio for a long time. Not saying who's right or wrong or whatever but I think that's a separate issue. I honestly can't see how anyone could argue these all being Lakeshore movies is a coincidence. Lakeshore either set the ratio on these or gave Arrow information which made them set it how they have. It literally cannot be a coincidence that out of 100s of titles only their Lakeshore licenses have this issue.

As for the Lakeshore titles, Arrow are either ignorant or are being disingenuous as they have constantly made up excuses for both Hellraiser III and Creepshow 2 claiming that they are correct. If they were told they couldn't adjust the image because of Lakeshore's demands then they should have said so instead of coming up with ridiculous excuses. |

Edit: JohnCarpenterFan is right. Ignore my ill informed post. Keeping as it was so you can shame me for my bad opinions.
On the subject of Blood and Black Lace, there was apparently sufficient evidence the film was shown in both aspect ratios. Arrow chose 1.66:1 over 1.85:1 because they thought that was more accurate to how the film was originally framed. Some people agree and some disagree, but there's no objective evidence saying one is more "accurate" than the other. It's similar to the Night of the Living Dead aspect ratio debate, except we can ask the director, and Romero has given his definitive answer on that one. Should Arrow have included more than one aspect ratio for Blood & Black Lace? Absolutely. Was the one that they did include incorrect? Not at all, despite the opinions of some reviewers. On the subject of House, Hellraiser, Creepshow, and any other titles with this issue moving forward, it seems to be a big oversight. It's something that should be corrected with a replacement program. But there's a difference between making a choice (B&BL) and making a mistake (Hellraiser II et.al).
