oh, i thought you meant my post.

He just needs to know 120hz is used to reduce the motion blur and judder. the smoothing 3D looking effect that can be turned off and on is the frame interpolation e.i. "Auto Motion Plus", "Tru Motion", or "Motion Flow". If he had a 120hz only TV (without frame interpolation) then he would probably understand. I have one, its a Panasonic 120hz LCD and it does not have the smooth 3D look.
