Default True HD/DTS HD

Hey,

I could really use some help. I've learned a lot putting together a system but am getting hung up on one item.

I'm using a Panasonic DMP-BD10A and a Sony STR-DG1000.

I hooked up cables from all 8 blue-ray analog outputs to the receiver inputs. When I switch the receiver to "multi in" it still controls speaker levels. So I'm leaving all the speaker levels on the blue-ray at "large" and "0db".

Anyway, I discovered DVD-Audio and I love it. The only way it works is through the analog outputs. It sounds great, but bass is kind of low out of the subwoofer. I usually crank it up a bit.

The big problem is Dolby True HD and DTS HD (I know my blue-ray can't decode DTS HD Master Audio, and my receiver can't decode anything but Dolby, DTS and Dolby surround).

Problem 1: I thought that if I switch the audio output on the blue-ray for True HD or DTS HD to pcm, it will send the decoded surround signal to the receiver through the HDMI. But it does not. I get a 2 channel signal.

Problem 2: If I send True HD or DTS HD thorugh the analog outputs I get surround, but nothing from the subwoofer. (If I play regular Dolby 5.1 through the analog outputs, the bass from the subwoofer is fine).

I've tried Panasonic support a few times, and I'm sure you're aware that is a complete waste of time.

Any ideas? Shouldn't I be getting True HD and DTS HD though HDMI when I switch blue-ray output to PCM?

I'd really appreciate the help.
