Lightbulb Idea for hiding receiver lights

I have my components in the open near my screen... and the lights drive me crazy when I am watching a movie. I've covered most of the lights with little bits of tape.... but the display on the receiver has been a tougher nut. You don't want to hide it because you need it.

The display on my receiver has 3 dimmer settings. I had the idea of covering it with window tinting so that it only shows on it's brightest setting and disappears when it's on it's dimmest. The trick will be finding the right shade I guess.

I found a 24 sheet sample pack for $4.... so I think I'll order it and give it a shot. Think it will work?
