Default White Lights or Colored Lights?

Curious as when I was a kid, I DESPISED white lights on our Christmas tree. When I got older, I liked white lights more as it kept the tree looking clean and sparkling!

Personally I love white lights. It allows you to do "color schemes" with your ornaments and not have to worry about colored lights.

So, the question is - What is your preference? White lights or colored lights?

I prefer colored lights, but white lights certainly have their appeal in some situations.

I like blue lights over multi color (that pic rocks. I do like white lights but I think its not the color so much but the fact that all the lights are the same color. Makes the three look a lot cleaner.

Yeah. Cleaner is so much nicer. Blue is also a wicked color. My favorite of favorites is COBALT! Now that is blue. But none of that purple blue crap. Pure blue, like that tree. So very nice.

Yeah it would. Not advisable in the bedroom though - please do not expand on that any further. Thank you.

i own 1 strand of xmas lights (colored), and have a 4' fake tree (with white lights). next year i may upgrade.

and i believe blue lights are meant for those who celebrate hannakah. according to my jewish neighbor. in neighborhoods where the HOA requires some kind of holiday lights the jewish residents will put up blue lights only.

Some HOA's actually require holiday lights?? That's pushing it, IMO.

yup. i know there's a street in a neighborhood here in SD called "christmas card lane" where half the people on the street have these huge plywood (sometimes moving) christmas cards. some turn their whole house into one big christmas card. and i believe their HOA requires some kind of festive decoration. any religion or even secular decorations are ok. its really pretty. some people even hand out gingerbread and hot cocoa to all the people who tour the neighborhood christmas eve.

i have been to lazy to get out our 1 strand of lights. but now that we have a baby. my wife wants christmas to be more christmassy.
