I'm really excited about UNGUARDED MOMENT and RAW WIND IN EDEN.
I think there was a DVD previously of UNGUARDED MOMENT, but the image was very soft, and the colors were badly faded. I look forward to this film receiving a new 2K scan. It does have a great ending. I haven't seen RAW WIND IN EDEN, but with Rosanna "HELEN OF TROY" Podesta in the supporting cast, I'll blind-buy it. Last edited by Jobla; 04-17-2022 at 07:37 PM. |

If there's a standalone non-western left, I'm guessing it's "Istanbul" from 1957, an excellent Technicolor adventure with Errol Flynn, Cornell Borchers and Nat King Cole. As an added plus, the beautiful song "When I Fall in Love" figures prominently on the soundtrack. The movie has noirish elements but the Insider's noted that Kino won't be including any color films in their noir sets. So I'm hoping this one gets the solo release it deserves.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the Insider indicated that the remaining releases are all Universal rather than Paramount titles. So my guess for the standalone western would be the westernish "Mississippi Gambler" from 1953 with Tyrone Power and Piper Laurie. It was a major box office hit for Universal in its day. And I think Power's star presence alone is enough to justify it as a solid choice for solo release.

And with the announcement that most of the remaining 1950s titles will wind up in film noir boxed sets, my hopes for THE CONQUEROR seem to be dashed.

I wonder if David Del Valle might contribute an audio commentary track for either THE UNGUARDED MOMENT or RAW WIND IN EDEN? I think that UNGUARDED MOMENT, in particular, might well appeal to his sensibilities.

Going over the known information of the deal again, it seems due to deductions and previous clues, two more films have been almost all but confirmed to be in the deal:
Love Letters (1945), directed by William Dieterle and starring Joseph Cotten and Jennifer Jones (who was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for this film). This is the only remaining film for director William Dieterle (who was confirmed to have at least 1 film in the deal) not ruled out – This Love Of Ours (1945) is ruled out (no Claude Rains in the deal) and The Searching Wind (1946) is ruled out (no more 1946 films in the deal)). The Tattered Dress (1957), directed by Jack Arnold and starring Jeff Chandler, Jeanne Crain, Jack Carson, Gail Russell, and Elaine Stewart. This is the only remaining film for Gail Russell, who was confirmed to have at least 1 film in the deal not ruled out (the only other option left for Russell was Air Cadet (1951), which was just ruled out as it was revealed there are no more 1951 films in the deal). Looking at additional information, it would appear that 1 of either I Stole A Million (1939) (starring George Raft and Claire Trevor) or Lucky Jordan (1942) (starring Alan Ladd and Helen Walker) is in the deal (or potentially both - there's nothing that says both cannot be in the deal), as there is at least 1 film directed by Frank Tuttle in the deal, which has not been revealed as of yet. |

Love Letters is pratically a certainty as Mr. Insider also confirmed at an early stage, that there was a Joseph Cotten starring title among the films in the deal.
And I strongly suspect Lucky Jordan is the 1942 film, as when China was announced, Mr. Insider said there was one more Alan Ladd title in the deal. The 1948 title may be A Woman’s vengeance, as for 1948 noirs, I can only think of this or The Saxon Charm (that I would love to own on Blu). Last edited by Rafows; 04-18-2022 at 04:38 AM. |

Alternatively, I could pick it up from Amazon or eBay, but all things being equal, I'd rather give my business to Kino. |

The Lone Hand The Great Sioux Uprising There's no Raoul Walsh films in the deal, so The Lawless Breed is out. No Douglas Sirk either, so Take Me To Town is out. And wasn't it said there was only one Audie Murphy film in the deal? |

As Mr. Insider stated, there are 2 1956 titles in this deal, both noirs. Per my account, only 3 titles apply: - World in my corner - Behind the high wall - Edge of Hell So there are great chances that one of the the 1956 titles is the Audy Murphy starrer.
