I saw your post on AVS about the break in slides. I just completed mine on the 151. I applied D-Nice's settings and watched my first two movies over the weekend. You are in for a treat!

Back to the break in slides. Turn the TV on. Then pop the flash drive into the USB port on the side. It will automatically bring up a screen to make settings for the drive. Just select slide show. Select the time on each slide/color, I went with 60 seconds. Make sure you select "repeat all".

That should do it.

Thanks. im actually not going to do the break in D-nice's way. im just going to watch full screen content for 150 hours. i wanted to know how to run the slides so i can check for dead pixels when they deliver it.

I was in BB Saturday and they had the price at $4800 BUT there was a small sign next to the set that said "Kuro 60" stands $400". I told him I that the stand came with the 151 unassembled and he said that was the 111 only. He then said he could work with that or wall mount the set for $400.

Anyway this guy was ready to deal and wanted me to buy the set right then. He asked me how low I wanted them to go and I said that there was to be a clearance in July (per Saprano post on this site) and that they were going to go to $3500. He acted mildly surprised and said that the 6020s went for that price and that we were already two weeks into July. This guy was too pushy and I wouldn't have bought it then even if he came down to $3500.

I had him check the inventory and they had some 141s in the store that he would also deal on and there were 88 151s in the district warehouse. (There were 82 151's last month.) He said that there is now a 45 day price guarantee.

Anyway I was in Best Buy for something else and was just looking at the new Panasonic 54" Z when this pushy salesman came up. The Panasonic was lighter and thinner than the 151 but the picture didn't quite look as good in the black/contrast area. I don't know if they had it set up to the optimum. It appeared to me that the more expensive, smaller Panasonic was set behind the Kuro as gimmick to sell the Kuro.

I am happy with my 111 and don't want to take a chance on another HDTV at this time as the 111 is very good - no hum, no dead pixels etc.

With 88 tvs in the district warehouse there should be better deals to come for those interested in buying.

I told the saleman that if I was going to go above 50" I might consider FP. We went to the darkened room and they had the FP with Sony LED LCD and Sony OLED, the two brightest flat panels that made the FP look washed out. The OLED looked great but I wonder if you shrunk the best 50" and 52" displays to 11" that they wouldn't look almost as good.

Thanks for the info , It seems everywhere I look now, the prices are going up rather than being cheaper where are you from? now if I can only get a good deal like Saprano did on his 151. By the way,Congrats Saprano on your new Kuro

I'm from Northern California. I think if you printed Saprano's post about the $4000 and take it in to Best Buy Magnolia you will be able to get the same price. They were ready to deal this weekend.

With 88 151s in the warehouse in my area I think the prices will go well below $4000 for the final clearance. The prices at BB bounce around quite a bit and if you have a BB in your area they should go down again.

I just might have to try it if because I'm starting to run out of options. the prices are back up to $4800, I can't afford anymore than $4300. You would figure the prices would be below $4K by now.

If one store will do it another will too! That means they are still making profit off of 4k. Just go in there and tell them that is what you will pay if they wont go to another BB till you get your deal. GO NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Saprano, isn't the 151 ran for 100 hours straight from the factory and the 141 150 hours already? Not saying don't break it in, just wondering if 150 mark is needed or not with a factory break in on top of that.

From what I've read, the 101/141 are the only ones with 100 hours at the factory. The 111/151 and the KRP's are 50 hours.

That is a good idea but there is only 1 BB with the 151 in my area the local BB by my house doesn't have a Magnolia room so I'm gonna have to drive to philly were they do. so pretty much I need to get this BB in Philly to play ball with their prices, the have 2 or 3 in stock so I think they might wanna get rid of them. hopefully

Yeah, thats good to know , now when I get mine I only have to run the slides for 100hrs rather than 150hrs.
