Thanks Wafi, I saw that today , but I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on the 151 "instore" at a BB thats about an hour away, I called to check on the price and they want $4700 but I'm thinking that they may come down a little on that price , plus I have a 10% coupon on tvs $799 and up and that should sink the price a little too. I have my heart set on a 151 plus I will feel alot better knowing that the warranty will be valid.

Lets say they ask for $4000 you can go in look at it and when someone comes to help you tell em you really want it but your budget is $3000..they will try to divert your attention to other sets but just tell em your heart is set on the Kuro then tell em to see if the manager can do something about the price...odds are they will prolly come back to you with a lower price....say $3800, thats when you go away to walk around and think about it or say something like you need to discuss with the wife or someone else who is your partner in decision making...you know what I mean...after 10 mins or so go back to the guy who you were talking to and tell him that you spoke to your better half blah blah blah and the highest you can go is $3400 or $3500 only if they throw in the warranty or something [odds are they might not, but cant hurt to ask] and have him talk to the manager again with your new offer. Might work and the salesperson might comeback with a lower offer. Thats when you throw in your coupon etc. Now keep in mind you gotta find yourself one of those salespeople who you think will be able to go to the manager back and forth...dont get a newbie or an 18 year old who just joined BB. Observe and react! Every little detail matters.

Thank You very much Wafi , should I ask to talk to a manager personaly? or just let the salesman talk to him?, also, I forgot to tell you that they have 3 in stock. do you think that may help my mission on getting a good price? how much do you think they can bring the price down from $4700?

Thats typically never a good sign for the sales rep...shows that he/she's inept in getting it done...the manager shouldnt come in to the "picture" unless its by his own doing. Dunno about how low they will go, totally the manager's prerogative...that being said if they dont come down to atleast $4200 then I'd say you're not getting a deal. Ofcourse all of this is my opinion!

Oh most importantly def do not go during the weekend! Sales are typically down during the weekdays and the manager and sales reps are available enuff that they can give you all the attention and perhaps the price you want. Preferably in the evening...that way the manager can account for what the day has been like [hopefully very poor sales ] money wise and be more acquiesce to your needs!

I dont think i can still do this. i've been in my BB to many times asking for a good deal.

didn't you say a while back that BB is going to lower their prices on Kuros starting in July? who told you that? just curious because I could possibly use that as ammo when I go get my 151

i had a bad 5020 i wrote about a while back, i tried my hand with a v10 but it just didn't muster up to the pioneer so i took it back and ordered a 500m. the 500m arrived today and i am stoked, too bad my stand doesn't arrive until Wednesday. i did hook up the ps3 while the M was in the box and popped in cars and my freakin jaw hit the floor. In the words of mr. kaitzmier "there are oodles of adjustments" and the picture is out of this world.

I was in BB Saturday and they had the price at $4800 BUT there was a small sign next to the set that said "Kuro 60" stands $400". I told him I that the stand came with the 151 unassembled and he said that was the 111 only. He then said he could work with that or wall mount the set for $400.

Anyway this guy was ready to deal and wanted me to buy the set right then. He asked me how low I wanted them to go and I said that there was to be a clearance in July (per Saprano post on this site) and that they were going to go to $3500. He acted mildly surprised and said that the 6020s went for that price and that we were already two weeks into July. This guy was too pushy and I wouldn't have bought it then even if he came down to $3500.

I had him check the inventory and they had some 141s in the store that he would also deal on and there were 88 151s in the district warehouse. (There were 82 151's last month.) He said that there is now a 45 day price guarantee.

Anyway I was in Best Buy for something else and was just looking at the new Panasonic 54" Z when this pushy salesman came up. The Panasonic was lighter and thinner than the 151 but the picture didn't quite look as good in the black/contrast area. I don't know if they had it set up to the optimum. It appeared to me that the more expensive, smaller Panasonic was set behind the Kuro as gimmick to sell the Kuro.

I am happy with my 111 and don't want to take a chance on another HDTV at this time as the 111 is very good - no hum, no dead pixels etc.

With 88 tvs in the district warehouse there should be better deals to come for those interested in buying.

I told the saleman that if I was going to go above 50" I might consider FP. We went to the darkened room and they had the FP with Sony LED LCD and Sony OLED, the two brightest flat panels that made the FP look washed out. The OLED looked great but I wonder if you shrunk the best 50" and 52" displays to 11" that they wouldn't look almost as good.
