I like American Pie and American Pie 2. However, the excessive number of sequels (there are now six sequels to American Pie-making for seven American Pie movies overall) massively ruins the first two American Pie movies for me (American Pie and American Pie 2 are the only ageless movies in this series).

However, as comedies in general, both American Pie and American Pie 2 are very inferior to Porky's, Porky II: The Next Day, Animal House, Cheech and Chong’s Up In Smoke, The Cannonball Run, Smokey and The Bandit, Friday (1995 with Ice Cube and Chris Tucker), Next Friday and, to a somewhat lesser extent, Friday After Next.
