No doubt, the ED subs are great and if you had bought Polk, JBL, Energy, etc. speakers, I would agree, go with the ED subwoofer. But with the Sony speakers, I think a Sony subwoofer would likely compliment the sound of the speakers better. I'm not sure about your friend, because the Sony subwoofers are pretty great for the money and while they're certainly not the biggest and baddest out there, they do their job very well.

No, speakers and receivers don't have to be the same brand. The only thing that should are your front three speakers. I would recommend upgrading your center channel before anything though. The CR3000 is a puny speaker. At least go up to the CN5000.
Kryptonic I appreciate your honesty enough(that was im looking from you guys). But i would like to ask you; in my case with this Sony speakers the JBL ES250PBK 12" or a Polk audio PSW505 12" subwoofer could be a good combination with my speakers?, what you think?...or necessarily have to be a Sony subwoofer for make the right complement?

I am considering your advice about my center speaker, i think you are right i have to go to the CN5000 the bad thing is that is too bigger on dimensions and don't have enough space to this center speaker.

*Please guys, don't hesitate to spit me the true about my home theater set up, all recommendations are welcome
