Default Same old question, new issues

Ok here goes.. I'm buying a new TV, thats the easy part. I'm looking at a 54" Panasonic G25 Plasma or the 55" Samsung LCD-LED 8500. Here is my issue though. Plasmas are supposed to be better in darker rooms and LED's are supposed to be close to the black levels of a plasma. I have a very bright room with 23' ceilings and a large high window. I work 24 hour shifts so alot of the programs I watch are DVR'd. I know that the LED is about a thousand dollars more than the same sized Panasonic (.6 inches, close enough) I want the best overall solution.. what would that be
