Good to hear. When you're looking, make sure that the 3 dimensions of the room are not multiples of each other. Solid floors will produce more natural sounding acoustics, but you have to spend more money treating the other surfaces of the room to bring the decay time down. Lastly, rooms that are well sealed are easier to get deeper bass out of compared to rooms that have large openings into other spaces. Good luck with your house hunt.

glad to hear its getting good feedback lol finished all five for speakers and sub. just one question, is there any reason it should be higher? i have about three inches of height for my sub now or is it just the separation from the floor that is the most beneficial? its funny how the upgrade bug bites at you about the smallest things, chomp chomp! lol

![]() ![]() As far as how high the sub is ~ I have had mine setup so many different ways , I have to say the higher the better . Right now I have 2 that are next to my surrounds that are 3 feet high & it sounds totally different than I have had in the past ~ Way better . My Big Daddy 15" in the front is about 20" off the ground . So the higher the better IMO !! ![]() |

Here is my attempt at DIY sub stands for the my two yamaha subs. They raise the subs about 11" and were made out of about half of a 2X8. I then laquered them black. They are rough but fit in well in my system and look good I think!

Since the riser did not make a significant difference, should I attack longer legs to see if added height would give it a boost or maybe shorter legs? Maybe it is sitting in a "void" right now?
Thoughts on whether that would potentially help or not.... |

As far as your room is concerned, a naked tile floor is not the best type of floor for a home theater room. Floor reflections can muddy the sound. I would suggest a large and thick area rug to cover the front sound stage to lessen the reflections, particularly higher frequency reflections, from the floor. |

The Sub is in the only logical place right now. It's the only Corner in the whole room. Since the room isn't a dedicated room I can't just throw the sub anywhere I want.... or could I?!?!?!? As for the floor. I'm renting so the laminated "wood" floor is all I got. I will try getting more Polyfill for under the stand. Hopefully a new house soon, and then I get to reset everything!!! I'm very excited about that possibility.

![]() Here are 2 subs by my surrounds & My big one in between my fronts . It does not have to be in A corner , You may find it sounds better elsewhere ! This is my condo & how it is now ! ![]() ![]() |

Nice! I'm aware that a corner is not always the best place for the sub. I was just merely joking as my 3 roommates would not be happy to find a large sub in the middle of the room. I have to tuck it away and the only place for it now is that corner. But once I move I will try and find a stronger position for it. Thank you for the advice though CrazyBlue

the tough stuff is making it aesthetically pleasing. I like things too look polished. Also how nice is it having 2 subs? I'm wanting another SVS but gotta do some saving. Any "personal reviews" that will make me want a second one for sure?
