The Pirates don't have the best record in the majors, but they can beat any pitcher, any team, on any given night. Any baseball fan who has seen one or two games in their lifetime knows that.

Does this game really count as Strasberg's MLB debut? The level of competition this game is closer to AAA than MLB.

Well, I can now say that those last...two 100 plus, LAST PLACE losing seasons, do not not bother me in the slightest...anymore.

Strasburg has already lost a couple MPH off his fastball. In the two innings he was firing 99-100 MPH almost every pitch, now hes at 95-96.

He's already over 50 pitches. Doubt he goes more than 6 innings. Wonder how many fans will be left in the stands after Strasberg gets pulled.

I'm getting the Buccos/Nats game on MLB Network even though I'm watching the Jays/Rays, but I'm DVRing the Buccos/Nats game!

I was reading the local paper today and I read 2 of the first 13 selected in this year's MLB draft were from 863/Polk County...

#9: Karsten Whitson...Bartow High (I graduated from Bartow in 2003)
#13: Chris Sale...Lakeland High (Lakeland is known for there football program)

I looked it up on wikipedia. It says like Whitson played for Chipley HS in Florida, not Bartow. Though maybe he transferred.

But Florida is just as dominant at producing baseball talent as football. Four of the top 13 picks played either HS or college ball in FL last year.
