Well I am glad that Chipper signed a 3 year extension with the Braves. My favorite player stas with my favorite team. About time the Braves management realized they need to keep an icon before they lose the faith of the fans. Go Braves! Less than a week until the start of baseball!

Man I wish the Braves were going to Toronto this season for a series.

Not sure if it was reported down there but Chipper insulted the City of Toronto during the WBClassic... we're dying to let him have it lol

Oh well, instead I think the Jays visit the Braves in June.

Hard to say how the Rays will be... they should be strong again but they could also be one of those teams that falls flat the second time around.

Redsox will be tough. They are still the team to beat in the AL East IMO.

Yanks, not sure on them either. I still think they will have pitching problems, I can't believe AJ isn't hurt yet so that has to be coming soon. A-Rod is nothing but a distraction when he is back... but I do think Texiera will thrive there... he's one to worry about if you hate the Yanks haha.

Jays will be 4th most likley, maybe 5th(depends on how bad the Orioles are)... the starting pitching is gonna be ugly and will probably be Halladay's last as a Jay

hes probly gunna bring the heat since its contract year my bet is al cy for him...

least you'll get at least 16-22 wins out of him

I didn't make it to any games last year but this year I'm definitely going to go to a Twins game since it's their last year in baseball's worst park, the Metrodome. That place is so horrible but I've seen several games there and will want to go again.
I'm hoping to make it to a Cubs series as well. Their my favorite team but I don't make it to Chicago very often and tickets can be expensive. I was hoping they'd play in Minnesota but that series is in Chicago this year.

and hopefully some good players in return for his trade late season

Halladay still has 2 years remaining on his contract, including 2009.

it doesn't look to appealing on TV lol the announcers always refer to the wall as being made out of garbage bags... is it true? lol

they have a very nice stadium and the prices are great... I've heard if you sit all the way at the top you can see the capital building.

While it's bad as a baseball stadium it's even worse as a football stadium. My favorite football memory was there in 2002 though when Iowa beat Minnesota to clinch a share of the Big 10 title and the Iowa fans stormed the field and tore down a goalpost. They tried to get it out of the stadium but it was too big to fit through the doors. Me and my friends were able to get tickets in the Minnesota student section and there were more Iowa fans in that section than Minnesota. Overall I would say the crowd was around 80% Iowa fans that day.

Back to baseball, I'm not happy with the Cubs trading Mark DeRosa for 3 minor league pitchers. DeRosa could play every position other than pitcher or catcher and was a solid leader. He only made a little over $4 million so it isn't like they couldn't afford him.
