They have changed all the "church" references to "the magisterium" to make it less offensive. From what I've read though, the story is anti-extremist religion, not anti-religion like some people claim.

It is anti-Christian, especially the kind of Christianity that says there are definite rights and wrongs. Read more about the author and you will realize that.
