IN Amazon , for example, you will find lots of blu ray titles selling cheaper than the DVD version of the same movie. Unfortunately in India we are pricing regular DVDs at 299 and Blu Rays 799. At this differential, only an acute videophile would be looking to make the switch.

The other option is of course what Disney seems to be doing and the way I think market will finally move. They are manufacturing and possibly authoring onshore to produce for Indian markets a far inferior, bur competitively priced, product than what is available globally . ( Case in point Alice in wonderland).

Bottom line , blu ray will eventually be successful in India but not in the form we would like it to be. It will be a much cheaper version with far inferior quality transfers

well when hollywood has blu rays as mainstream and are much cheaper than in india........they still gave maintained thier quality standards so why dont the indians will??? the blu rays are like a new start and maybe the quality will not go down with prices.....at least we should be postive and hope so........!!
